Event Description:
Celebrate the longest day of the year and the power of the sun with a Summer Solstice Ritual honoring light, growth, and the turning of the Wheel of the Year. Led by the UUNWI CUUPS chapter, this ritual invites us to reflect on the abundance in our lives and set intentions for the season ahead.
Following the ritual, we’ll share in a community potluck filled with joy, laughter, and good food. All are welcome—whether you're a longtime pagan, a curious seeker, or simply someone who enjoys meaningful community traditions.
About the Summer Solstice:
The Summer Solstice, also known as Litha in many Pagan traditions, is the point in the year when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky, resulting in the longest day and shortest night. It marks a time of light, abundance, and the fullness of life.
Many cultures have celebrated the solstice for centuries with festivals honoring the sun, fertility, and the richness of the earth. Spiritually, it’s a time to honor personal growth, celebrate achievements, and prepare for the gradual return of the dark half of the year. It invites reflection, gratitude, and a renewed connection with nature.
What to Expect:
A guided ritual with music, meditation, and symbolism
Reflection on seasonal themes of sunlight, intention, and transformation
Indoor gathering in the Parish Hall
Community potluck meal
What to Bring:
A dish to share (please label ingredients)
Reusable plate and utensils (to support eco-friendly practices)
Something seasonal or meaningful for the communal altar (optional)
A friend or two!
Who Can Attend:
